A thirty five year old man tied himself to the fourth floor window ledge to protest for custody of his children. The children were reported to social services last year after a health visitor noticed marks on the youngest child’s neck
Shortly after the couple’s two children were taken into care.
The man is said to have been frustrated after he was refused the right of a solicitor. He became angry and left the room for a break, during this time the man tied himself to the window ledge.
A passer-by called the police at around 3.45pm to alert them to the situation.
Wales Fire and Rescue arrived minutes later. They were on standby with a fire engine and specialist equipment.
The mother of the two children said they were taken into care last June and the couple have been fighting to regain custody ever since. The thirty five year old man told The Insight via a phone call while he was perched on the window ledge that he was protesting against what he called an ‘unfair’ ruling.

Speaking exclusively to The Insights Alex Spiceley,  he said: ‘They took my kids and they won’t give me a third trial.

He said ‘I’m here on my own, for my own children. This is about my kids. No one should be able to stop me on this, I just want fairness. If I don’t ever get custody, I want them to know I have been trying.’

The man’s arm was tied safely to the window where he sat .He remained on the window ledge for two hours. Upon safe return he was escorted away by police.

  1. He was wasting police time he had no intention of jumping maybe you should be asking why his kids were taken from him in the first place!
